A lyrical confession in the first person based on A. P. Chekhov's short story "About
Love". A poor landowner has been in love with his friend's young wife for many years. Their deep feelings are mutual, but they keep them a secret not only from each other but also from themselves. Only when they part forever will they allow themselves the luxury of a sincere declaration of love.
The monomyth will feature works by 20th-century composers (A.
Kolker, E. Martynov, M. Fradkin, R. Pauls, E. Ptichkin, and Yu. Vizbor) and
contemporary composers (I. Krutoi, O. Fadeeva, M. Mashkautsan, N.
Kachanova, S. Namin, and D. Patsyuk) on the poems of A. Voznesensky, E. Yevtushenko,
A. Dementyev, S. Marshak, E. Dolmatovsky, I. Shaferan, M. Tanich, and K.
Ryzhova, L. Bell, A. Poperechny, I. Fadeyev, E. Kott.
The performance is accompanied by the winners of international
competitions – jazz and classical viola player Konstantin Plekhanov and
virtuoso pianist Nina Kachanova.
