The mono performance "MY FORD"
"MY FORD" is a solo performance by the St. Petersburg theater and film actor Mark
Gavrilova based on the work of the great Russian poet Joseph Brodsky.
This is not another reading work, but a dramatic performance.
Performance-reflection, performance-dialogue. Arranged in a certain
drama, fragments of prose and poetry by Brodsky become an
acutely modern debate on a variety of" sick " topics – from
social and political to spiritual and everyday. And the character on
whose behalf this dispute is conducted, makes many of the poet's statements
unexpectedly relevant for our time. In this sense
"MY FORD” is an attempt of today's man to find his own way of
crossing in the quagmire of everyday troubles and the rapid whirlpools of
modern life. An attempt
to answer the difficult questions that arise before each of us with the help of great texts and deep thoughts of a wonderful poet
. In the play, there is not so much of that Brodsky,
who, as they say, is "on the ear". And the unexpected author's
statement of the artist makes it possible to look at the work of the poet with
a new, unfamiliar point of view. Someone will be surprised by this angle, someone will have
a desire for controversy. But it is understandable. AFTER ALL, EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN FORD.
